Damage in the name of Development

Damage to trees

Road construction under Flood Control Department, NCT of Delhi, on '60 feet road' Burari Road to Yamuna Pusta through Baba Colony. The trees on the roadside are damaged by  contractor's labourers and machines.

The roots have become bare because of digging the soil around the trees. Roots are cut and barks are peeled off. This shows clear insensitivity to 'Oxygen Generators'.

Picture above shows the roots cut while removing soil from the "Neem Tree".

There were many saplings planted on the roadside by the residents, are also uprooted and damaged.

Slow death of gigant mammal

Elephants may be the greatest mammal living on the land but they are facing cruelty,  slow  death in the captivity of humans!!

Some of them can be seen in the national capital of India.

Beginning of the new year 2011, we might have seen them on Indian TV Channels being cared by the health camp doctors, which was organised (on January 06, 2011) by the Wildlife Trust of India,  Elephant Owner Association Delhi, Elephant Project (Government of India).

Just a month later, on the same place, an ailing elephant was found almost dying, weeping. The scene was quite horrible.

This ailing elephant was found on the same place where the health camp was organised on 6th January, 2011

This could not stand on its back legs because its rear left leg has some wound infections and it has to changes its leg positions frequently to ease itself.
